二百人堆砌立體沙雕力撐「國際守護鼠海豚日」
(綠色和平)為響應「國際守護鼠海豚日」，綠色和平偕同親子團體綠腳丫，以及逾200名市民在愉景灣沙灘堆出長八米、高一米的巨型加灣鼠海豚沙雕，呼籲香港政府馬上增撥資源打擊走私石首魚，從而保護鼠海豚。根據國際捕鯨委員會(IWC)發表的最新報告，加灣鼠海豚數量今年再進一步下跌，預計三年內絕種。而報告又指出，捕捉石首魚是加灣鼠海豚因而被誤捕的主因。
Greenpeace, parent-child group "Greenfooter", and more than 200 people built a giant sand sculpture of a vaquita porpoise (8 m long, 1 m high) on Discovery Bay beach to mark “International Save the Vaquita Day” and to call on the Hong Kong government to urgently take action to help protect the vaquita by cracking down on the smuggling of the totoaba fish.According to the International Whaling Commission's (IWC) latest report, the number of vaquita left has fallen again this year, and it is expected to become extinct within three years. The report also highlighted that the vaquita are being driven to extinction because there is bycatch in gillnets meant for catching totoaba.
